Nature imagined workshop
In this workshop, students have the opportunity to observe, discuss and interact with the spectacular artwork of landscape artist William Robinson, and his visual impressions of the South East Queensland hinterland. The program begins with a tour of the current exhibition at the William Robinson Gallery, which honours the life and work of Robinson.
Students will learn about Robinson's artistic process which draws upon both observation and imagination to summon memories and visual impressions of places he has experienced. Students will be led through a series of sketching activities before producing a small-scale painting with watercolour pencils and pastels, utilising the gardens and surrounds at QUT Gardens Point campus as inspiration.
This program is subject to staff availability.
